When Akiko Yosano penned "Tangled Hair", her intensely personal and instantly famous volume of turn-of-the-century Japanese poetry, I imagine she used a private letter desk just like this one. Exotic, forward thinking and sensuously feminine, our Tanka Poetry Desk is both as fluid and structural as the verses it inspires. Featuring matching, waterfall-edge arch supports, the entire piece is clad in alternating strips of reed-wrapped bento veneer. The solid, curl cut mahogany frame is left unadorned along both the feet and face, offering an unobstructed view of the characteristically swirled wood grain. Includes a central pen drawer capable of concealing a laptop.
